David Hambling lives in Norwood, South London. He has been weaving a web of Lovecraftian tales around the area and focused on the 1920s, starting with his collection The Dulwich Horror and Others (PS Publishing, 2015) and continuing with the Harry Stubbs series. He is otherwise known as a science and technology journalist and cat lover.

He had wild and original ideas on the independent vital properties of organic cells and nerve-tissue separated from natural physiological systems; and achieved some hideous preliminary results in the form of never-dying, artificially nourished tissue obtained from the nearly hatched eggs of an indescribable tropical reptile.
